What Brought Tanya to Yoga

I have served as a Paramedic in Ontario for over 18 years. In 2018, I was diagnosed with PTSD as a result of the cumulative occupational stressors of my career. Determined not to be defined by the diagnosis, I sought tools that would support my healing and allow myself to continue a long, meaningful career in emergency services.

Yoga was suggested—initially met with hesitation—but after my first class, I experienced a profound shift. Alongside psychological counselling, yoga became an essential part of my recovery, helping to build resilience, regulate stress, and reconnect with myself both on and off the mat.

Today, I credit my yoga practice with supporting a sustainable, rewarding career and a healthier life overall. My intention is to share the same tools and benefits with others, offering yoga as a supportive practice for resilience, healing, and long-term well-being.

NEW FOR 2026:

As a paramedic, I've seen firsthand how movement, strength and nutrition directly impact long-term health, recovery and quality of life. As a yoga instructor, I learned the power of mindful movement, breath and body awareness- but I also recognized that many people need strength training and practical lifestyle support to truly feel resilient in their everyday lives.

Becoming a personal trainer, small-group fitness instructor and nutritionist allows me to bridge the gap between rehabilitation, prevention and performance. My goal is to help people build strength safely, move with confidence, and fuel their bodies in a sustainable way - so they can feel strong, capable, and supported both inside and outside the studio.
